Robert Fulmer Yerbey Sr.

Robert Fulmer Yerbey, Sr., 85, of Ooltewah, TN, passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2021.

Robert was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, TN. He was a member of Ooltewah Church of God.  He proudly served and retired from the U.S. Air force in 1974 after 21 years of service. He retired from BHY Concrete, he loved racing cars, collecting trains, and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Burrell and Toy Yerbey; son, Christopher Jay Yerbey; daughter, Tyana Alexander; brother, B.H. Yerbey Jr.; and sister, Martha Faye Yerbey.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Barbara Ann Yerbey; son, Robert F. Yerbey Jr.; daughter, Toy (Phil) Duncan; son-in-law, Jerry Alexander; sister, Mary Easterwood; brother, Bill W. Yerbey; 8 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor Clayton Privett officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Phil Duncan, Gary Yerbey, Billy D. Yerbey, Don Yerbey, Bill Curtis Jr., and David Merriman.
