Rev. Richard G. Jones Jr.

Rev. Richard G. Jones Jr., 77, of East Ridge went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, October 13, 2019.

A longtime resident of East Ridge, Rev. Jones retired from Wheland Foundry after 35 years of service.

Rev. Jones has served in the ministry for over 50 years and was a former moderator at the Tennessee Baptist Association.  He had also worked as a Chaplain for Volunteers in Medicine.

He had worked for Wally’s in East Ridge for over 15 years and was presently working for Groomes Transportation in East Ridge.

Rev. Jones was a veteran of the US Army.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Bobbie Jones;  sons, Steve (Amanda) Jones, Higdon, AL and Michael (Robin) Jones, Ooltewah;  sister, Pat Wooten, East Ridge;  brothers, Bill (Glenda) Jones, East Ridge and Lamar (Donna) Jones, Chickamauga;  four grandchildren, Kelcee, Emma, Mason, Alex;  great-grandchild, Trinity;  several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Friday, October 18th at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel with family and friends speaking.

Burial will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
