Mary Ruth Clinton, 96, of East Brainerd passed away February 18, 2021 at the home of her niece.
She was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and retired after 40 years of service from the Dept. of Pathology at Erlanger Medical Center and Hutcheson Medical Center.
Miss Clinton was a veteran of the US Army serving during WW II and was also an Army Reservist during the Korean War.
She was a longtime communicant of Grace Episcopal Church where she was formerly a Sunday school teacher, usher, and Altar Guild. She held memberships with the American Association of Medical Assistants, Women’s Army Corps Veterans Association, Women in Military Service of America and the American Legion Post #14.
She was the daughter of the late Louis & Marie Clinton and was preceded in death by her sister, Sarah Foster and brothers, Donald and Robert Clinton.
She is survived by nieces, Connie (Kenny) Legg, LaFayette, GA and Debbie (Larry) Holloway, Ringgold, GA; nephews, Robert Louis (Debbie) Clinton, Douglasville, GA and Chris Clinton, Jonesboro, GA; and several great- nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Monday, February 22nd at 1 PM in the funeral home chapel.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 26th at 11 am at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday, February 21st form 4-7 pm at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Road.
