Leslie John Bates

Leslie John Bates , 82, of Chattanooga,  passed away Thursday, April 11, 2019 in a local hospital.

Mr. Bates spent 28 years with the US Army / Air Force retiring in 1997 as Master Sergeant.

He was a longtime member of Tyner United Methodist and the East Ridge Masonic Lodge #755 F & AM.

He was preceded in death by both of his sons, Pvt. William Michael Bates and Lt. Commander John Stacy Bates.

Survivors are his wife, Peggy Brown Bates;  2 brothers, Gerald Bates, Dallas, TX and Rayburn Bates, Clinton, MS.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 16th  at  11 a.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors. Donnie Bright will be delivering the eulogy.
