Joan D. Brooks

Joan Disheroon Brooks, 89, joined her beloved husband, Clyde, in Heaven on Friday, October 15, 2021. She passed peacefully at home with her family.

Joan was born in Chattanooga where she later met and married Clyde Brooks in 1948. They were devoted to each other for 58 years. They created an amazing, loving family and legacy. 

Joan was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and three siblings. 

She is survived by her children, Connie (Mike) Martin and Gary (Sheila) Brooks, all of Harrison, TN; grandchildren, Jennifer (Joel) Tapley, Jacy (Mike) Harris, and Brent (Tiffany) Barber; great grandchildren, Kristen (Jonny) Reece, Mackenzie Tapley, Patrick Barber, and MJ Harris; great, great grandchildren, Jonah Reece and Malachi Reece, as well as extended family and friends. 

A private, family graveside service will be held at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family is very grateful for the amazing, loving and caring people of Hospice of Chattanooga.  Donations in Joan’s name to Hospice of Chattanooga, in lieu of flowers, would be a lovely gesture.
