Howard Edward Leary

Howard Edward Leary, 92, of Chattanooga, Tennessee passed away Saturday May 20, 2023.

A native of Bradenville, Pennsylvania, Howard was a former employee of Village of Bedford Park, IL. where he served as fire Marshall and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Chattanooga.

He was a member of the Masonic Bodies and was Past Master of 2 lodges, a member of the Medinah Shrine, Past Worthy Patron of Multiple Eastern Star Chapters in Illinois, and member of Starlight Chapter #1.

Howard is preceded in death by his wife, Anita Fay Phares Leary; parents, Robert William and Mae Braden Leary; two sisters, Maxine Lipinski and Judy Smith; and two brothers, Robert Leary and Richard Leary.

He is survived by his son, W J “Wally” (Sheila) Leary of Chattanooga, TN.; two grandchildren, J P (Adrienne Thunder) Leary and Sarah (Michael Helm) Leary; two great grandchildren, Josefina Helm and Anita Helm; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Private Memorial services will be held at a later date.
