Gary Wesley Barber

Gary Wesley Barber, 70, of Collegedale passed away June 22, 2022 in a local hospital.

A resident of Collegedale since 1975, Mr. Barber was a retired independent truck driver after many years of service.

He was a member of the Collegedale Community Seventh-day Adventist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Irvin & Pearl Barber; and brother, Ernest William Barber.

Survivors are his wife of 55 years, Linda Ann Barber;   4 daughters, Lori (Eddie) Fugate,  Tracie (Bill) Aldridge, all of Ooltewah; Jill (Dr. Brad) Large, and Heather (Joey) Potter, all of Chattanooga;  brother, Irvin (Grace) Barber Jr., Murfreesboro, TN;  sister, Linda (Keith) Culver, Sweet Valley, PA;  6 grandchildren, Kerri (Aaron) Campbell, Megan Aldridge, Jake (Caitlin) Fugate, Emily Large, Blake Aldridge, and Abby Large;  3 great-grandchildren, Knox Campbell, Miley Fugate, and Sophie Campbell;   several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for family and close friends will be held Sunday, June 26th at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Todd Van Cleve officiating.

Burial will follow at New McDonald Cemetery with Bill Aldridge, Dr. Brad Large, Joey Potter, Jake Fugate, Blake Aldridge, and Aaron Campbell serving as pallbearers.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The family will receive friends Sunday, June 26th from 12 noon until 2 pm at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Road.
