Dorothea (Dot) Juanita Crawford (Bishop), age 85, passed away on November 17th, 2021 peacefully in her home surrounded with her loved ones and close friends.
Born February 5th, 1936 in Chattanooga Tennessee. She grew up in Ft. Oglethorpe, GA and attended Lakeview High School. In October of 1952, she married John Ray Crawford, Sr.
She spent her adult years in Chattanooga, Tn. and worked over 44 years at Dixie Yarns of Chattanooga, Tn., before retiring in 1998. After retiring from Dixie Yarns, she had 20 years of volunteer service with the Friends of the Festival (Riverbend).
Dot actively supported the Elks Lodge #91, was a long time member of the East Ridge Ramblers Square Dance Club, and assisted in various community activities with her husband.
Dot will be especially remembered as a kind and loving wife, mother and grandmother, as well as a friend to everyone.
Preceded in death by her husband, John Ray Crawford, Sr and Survivors include her Son, John Crawford Jr. of Chattanooga, Tn. Daughter, Wanda Crawford (John) Hale of Chattanooga, Tn., Granddaughter, Erika Marie Hale (Travis) Estrella of Lakeridge, Va.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held Saturday January 15th, 2022 at: Elks Lodge #91 1067 Graysville Rd. Chattanooga, Tn. 37421
Family and Friends will gather 1PM-3PM and Service will be at 3PM.
