July 19, 1940 ~ June 9, 2021 (age 80) 80 Years Old

Tribute

Carolyn Leona Headrick Denton, 80, of East Brainerd, TN, went to be with The Lord on Wednesday, June 9, 2021.

Carolyn was a native of Ringgold, GA but was a life-long resident of Chattanooga. Carolyn had a career in retail management and was involved in the Brainerd Village Merchants' Association for many years.

Mrs Denton was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Ringgold, GA since childhood. She formerly served as church pianist, Sunday School teacher and church secretary. She was a faithful member and loved serving her Lord. Carolyn was also a prayer warrior. As her illness worsened she would say "I can't do all that I used to do but I can still pray". She also had a great love for missions and strived to help and be a blessing to many missionary families.

Carolyn was a Godly example, a mentor, generous with her time, a true friend, care-giver, helper and encourager for anyone who had a need. Her heart was selfless and sincere. She loved Jesus and her life was a true reflection of that love. She touched the lives and hearts of all who knew her and the influence and inspiration she has been to so many will impact them and others for years to come. She will also be remembered as a wonderful cook, for her intense love for her family, "Others" and for all her super-woman abilities.

She was the daughter of the late Alice and C.L. Headrick and was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence "Neno" Denton; siblings and their spouses: Louise(Charles) Clark, Josephine(Lawrence) Perry, Bill(Katherine) Headrick, Gene Headrick, Jim Headrick and Larry Headrick.

Survivors are her son, Joel (Kerry) Denton; her daughter, Denise (Bill) Zinkeler. Grandchildren; Alex (Angela) Denton, Caroline (Jeffrey) Marks, Amber Diver, Annie (Jeff) Cowart and Kristie (Charlie) Minor. Great Grandchildren; Carly and Kennedy Diver, Carson and Carter Cowart, Henry and Aubrey Marks, Alison Denton and Eli and Davey Minor; Brother, Calvin (Joyce) Headrick; Sisters-In-Law, Sandra Headrick and Judy Headrick; many nieces and nephews and many "honorary (chosen by heart)" family members.

Special thanks to her care-givers: Her "bestie" Glinda Compton, her weekend buddy Breanna Ordonez, “Her Girl” Shelby Richardson, Hearth Hospice, the special CNA’s/RA’s/Nurses at both Morning Pointe of Chattanooga and East Hamilton. They all brought joy to her days as they cared for her.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, June 14, 2021 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the missions’ fund of your choice to help spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.
