Barbara Jane Miller

Barbara Jane Miller, 86, daughter of the late William Hoyt Frazier and the late Louise Helen Frazier, died from natural causes early Friday morning, October 9, 2020. She was 86. Barbara was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her as such a warm and generous person.

Barbara was born on December 21, 1933. She was a lifelong Chattanooga native and a graduate of City High School. After graduating, she worked for many years at both East Lake Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Chattanooga, and also spent time as an administrative assistant at the Krystal Company. At East Lake Baptist she served in the summers as the Vacation Bible School pianist, as she was a skilled player of the piano. After retirement, she served as an office volunteer at Brainerd Presbyterian.

In 1952, Barbara married her husband Dolph Miller who was originally from West Tennessee. They settled in Chattanooga and raised two boys.

Barbara was an active member of Brainerd Presbyterian Church, and each day was committed to a daily time of Bible reading and prayer. In her personal life she was very thoughtful and caring, and always with her meticulous planning especially made Christmas so much fun for everyone. She was always there to support her children and grandchildren and lived long enough to spend time with her first great grandchild. She was blessed with many lifelong friends.

Barbara is survived by her two sons, Dennis Miller of Signal Mountain (daughter-in law Rachel Decosimo Miller); Tim Miller of East Brainerd (daughter-in-law Marilyn Hullett Miller); 6 grandkids, Lance Miller, Peyton Miller, Rachel Helen Hoffman, Vincent Miller, Julien Decosimo and Guillaume Bauer; and four great-grandchildren, Judah Hoffman, Joseph Hoffman, Cyrus Decosimo and Leila Decosimo as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held graveside at Lakewood Memory Gardens South (325 Greens Lake Road, Rossville, GA 30741) at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 13. The Reverend Dean Deatherage will be officiating. Pallbearers are Tim Miller, Ben Miller, Lance Miller, Vincent Miller, Peyton Miller and Justin Hoffman.
